Orumba Youth Applaud Federal Government On Alex Ekwueme's National Burial, Seek Ecological Intervention.
Orumba Youth Association led by Obinna Nwankwo from Eziagu from Orumba South LGA, visited the Presidency to commend them on their impressive role and input during the burial of their father and former Vice president, Dr. Alex Ekwueme.
The spokesman Alex Nwankwo, during the photo session with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo applauded the Federal Government for celebrating the late Orumba son from Oko in a very prestigious and dignifying ceremony that cuts across different parts of the country. He further prayed that the Government look into the plea of the Hon. Ben Nwankwo led delegation over the ecological challenges and educational importance in the Local government.
In response, Prof. Osinbajo highlighted the Federal government's interest in Anambra state. He identified the recent feeding program of over 150,000 children, as well as the employment of about 1000 cooks in the state. He went further to uncover the plans of the federal government in the construction of the second Niger bridge which will go a long way to improve the economic activities in Orumba region.
In his conclusion, he commended the efforts of late Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who he says was indeed a great nationalist, who respected humanity and the values of integrity; he says 'we remain extremely proud of Dr. Alex Ekweme, and it was right to celebrate him the way we did'
