IMO ELECTION 2019: "Zonal Development Commissions Key To Socio-economic Prosperity"a - Hon. Tony Nwulu

The race to the Douglas House has taken a new and different dimension with the declaration of interest by Hon. Tony Chinedu Nwulu, who has joined the gubernatorial ring with immense exuberance and verifiable parliamentary records of excellent achievements. 

In a media interaction with journalists in Owerri, IMO state capital, Hon Tony Nwulu expressed concern with the level of political underdevelopment in the state. In his view, the operational political system is the cause of the avoidable setbacks. 
To tackle the perennial developmental challenges in IMO state, Hon. Nwulu disclosed his intention to introduce what he called ZONAL DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY. According to this vibrant law maker representing Oshodu/Isolo federal constituency in Lagos state, each of the three senatorial zones of the state shall have separate development commissions, which will be charged with the responsibility of developing their zones. Throwing more light to this new and applauding development plans, Hon Tony indicated that the idea is to allow the people of the zones to develop their places at their own pace and administrative capacity. Hon Nwulu insisted that the blame games in development is the function of over centralisation of power with the executive arena in the state capital. He promised to do everything possible to establish the commissions if given the mandate to govern IMO state in 2019.

Another area of great interest is the desire of  this Guber aspirant to run a simple government, which will enable his administration to encourage concession of roads that will allow individuals to own their roads and operate as built, strengthen public  private partnership to encourage local and international investors.
Responding to questions from journalists, Hon Tony Nwulu stated in strong and unambiguous language his unwavering determination to make Imo people his political backbones, adding that he will leave any political party that does not respect the electoral value of the people of IMO state. Hon. Nwulu rejected political camps and structures that are built on godfatherism. 

In the area of entertainment, a Veteran Nigerian actor and pioneer Nollywood movie star, Kananyo O. Kananyo, who has thrown support to Hon Nwulu, used the media parley to enlighten the press on the huge revenue potential of the state in the entertainment and creative industry. He saw Uguta lake as an untapped financial goldmine wasting in the state. According to the movie super star, the industry has the capacity to increase the internally generated revenue of IMO state, and can also create more than two million jobs in few years if optimally harnessed.

Hon Tony Chinedu Nwulu is a 39 year old law maker, who hail from Eziudo, Ezinihitte, Mbaise Local Government Area of IMO state. Born in Lagos state in 1979, Tony Nwulu made a historic political record when he defeated an incumbent and a Yoruba lawmaker in the heart of Yoruba communities in Lagos state to become the first Igbo and a non-indegine to represent the Oshodu Isolo federal constituency II of Lagos state.
Hon Tony Nwulu is most likely to be the next Governor of IMO state, the Eastern Heartland come 2019.
