AFAN Announces Expansion of Partnership with TINGO Mobile

Published on

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) is thrilled to announce a significant development in its lease and service agreement with Tingo Mobile Limited, the market leader in mobile and fintech solutions in Nigeria. According to AFAN, approximately 11 million of its members use smartphone and fintech applications from Tingo Mobile, such as the Nwassa platform, for daily operations.

This update is a significant step toward AFAN's aim of providing its members with access to advanced mobile technology and financial services by 14 December 2022.

Additionally, some members have begun selling their produce for processing to Tingo Foods Plc, a subsidiary of Tingo Mobile. This is a modest but optimistic step in the partnership between AFAN and Tingo Group.

Dr. Farouk Rabiu Mudi, the national president of AFAN, says, "We are encouraged by the progress we have witnessed through our partnership with Tingo Mobile." Several of our producers have begun collaborating with Tingo Foods Plc, and an increasing number of our members are employing digital technology. We remain optimistic about Tingo and its affiliates' potential for future development and increased product and service utilization."

This partnership exemplifies AFAN's commitment to modernizing agricultural practices and equipping its members with the resources they need to adapt to the swiftly evolving digital environment.
