GPAEI Decorates Olu Of Warri With Icon Of Hope Award; As Soccer Team Wins Playoff Games

The Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR has been decorated as a Global Peace Icon of Hope and was presented with a Certificate of Patronship by Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative - GPAEI. According to our Reporter, the recognition of the Olu of Warri was premised on his impact in promoting peace through elimination of hard drugs in Nigeria.


The award was presented by the DG of Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative Amb. Chief Dr. Badamasi Sadiq Ibrahim and his team which included Global Peace FC talents. A few months ago, the Executive Director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Mr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele was also presented with a Life Patronship Award by GPAEI delegation.


Oyedele in his remarks cited that engaging youth in sports will go a long way in curbing the use and addiction of hard drugs amongst youths. He further stated that the government must encourage sporting activities by creating intriguing policies.


Another outstanding stride is the qualification of Global Peace Football Club for the next season of Nationwide League One. The young team with incredible talents have now been promoted to participate in one of Nigeria's renowned third-tier levels of club football in Nigeria.


The delegation of Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative expressed appreciation to the Olu of Warri for his contribution and support towards ensuring a fruitful campaign against drug abuse and youth empowerment.


Global Peace FC of Jos, Plateau state emerged winners of the Kaduna Playoffs after its young talented Players clinched a 4-0 win in the closing match of the playoff games.


According to our sources, the promotion of Global Peace FC to play in the next National League One was contained in a letter by Kaduna State Football Association and addressed to the secretary of Nationwide League One.


Recall that Global Peace FC was founded just a few years ago by a non governmental organization known as Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative - GPAEI under the leadership of Amb. Chief Dr. Badamasi Sadiq Ibrahim.


The football club was founded with a vision to promote peace in crisis challenged communities, empower youths and discourage them from drug and substance addiction. It is a project of GPAEI to take youths away from drugs and engage them in soccer for a better and productive future.


The club has continued to discover and nurture several young talents by organizing soccer scouting programs to discover potential soccer Stars. Today some of her players have been signed up by international clubs overseas and many more will be signed-up soon.


Global Peace Football Club has been endorsed by several traditional Leaders, the Emirate Council of Nigeria, notable institutions, top ranking government officials across the globe and also endorsed by her Imperial Majesty, El Ham Madini of Vancouver in Canada.


In a statement by the Director General of Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative, he assured the world that Global Peace Football Club will remain committed to peace advocacy, youth empowerment and the anti drug abuse campaign across Nigeria and the world.
