Court sets aside suspension of Kwankwaso as NNPP’s national leader
A Kano State High Court has overturned Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s suspension as leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The court, presided over by Justice Usman Mallaa Na’Abba, issued its verdict in suit number K/M1175/2023. The court overturned Kwankwaso’s suspension and barred disgruntled members from serving as national party officers.
Justice Na’Abba ordered an interim injunction banning the respondents from representing themselves as national officers, leaders, or members of the NNPP.
Furthermore, the ruling nullified the purported suspension of Kwankwaso and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognize the suspension until the motion on notice is heard and determined.
The court’s decision has reinstated Kwankwaso’s position within NNPP as the party’s national leader.
