Armed robbers stab NSCDC spokesperson in Niger
Ibrahim Muti, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), recently survived a violent attack by armed robbers in Minna.
The incident occurred on Friday evening around 8 p.m. near the Federal Housing Estate Gbeganu in the Chanchaga Local Government Area.
Mr. Muti reported that he was returning home from work in a tricycle when about nine assailants struck. The tricycle operator had briefly stopped to pick up two men when the attackers emerged from nearby bushes.
Armed with knives, the robbers stabbed Mr. Muti twice in the stomach, robbing him of his phone and other valuables.
During the robbery, the assailants noticed his uniform trousers and mistakenly believed he was a soldier, which prompted them to flee the scene. Following the attack, Mr. Muti received medical treatment and was discharged from the hospital on the same day.
