How I lost $3.7m in 2024 trading forex – Mark Angel

Content creator and skit maker Mark Angel has shared an emotional revelation about 2024 being the toughest year of his life, following a staggering $3.7 million loss in forex trading.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, Mark Angel revealed that the financial setback plunged him into severe debt and led to a series of personal and financial struggles.

The weight of his losses became overwhelming, causing him to lose properties to loan sharks and face an emotional and financial crisis.

Mark candidly shared his feelings of despair, describing how the burden of debt made him feel as though his world was falling apart. In the depths of his turmoil, he admitted to moments of hopelessness, even contemplating ending his life.

“The year 2024 began like every other year, but I had no idea how much it would test me how much it would break me, yet ultimately reshape me. It was the year I lost everything,” he wrote.

“I trusted the wrong hands in forex and lost all my money. Nobody knew except my family and closest circle. The weight of the loss, over $3.7 million was suffocating. I was drowning in debts, and one by one, I watched all my properties slip into the hands of loan sharks. It felt like my world was crumbling, and in my darkest moments, I considered ending it all.”

“But God…if not for His mercies, I wouldn’t be here writing this. He sent angels into my life when I needed them the most,” Mark wrote, reflecting on how divine intervention and support from loved ones helped him survive the ordeal.

He expressed gratitude for his close-knit support system which included friends, family, his pastor, ex-wife Mandy, daughters Victoria and Mila, his son Schoolboy and his social media assistant Bright.

Mark also revealed that while he was in therapy to recover from the trauma, another devastating blow came, a scandal that shook his career and exposed the true nature of those around him.

He admitted that this experience revealed fake friends and hidden saboteurs but also taught him valuable lessons about trust, resilience and faith.

“2024 was the hardest year of my life, but it was also the year God drew me closer to Him. Through the ashes, He taught me resilience, faith, and the true meaning of grace. I don’t take it for granted that I’m alive today,” he wrote.
