Special Forces intercept terrorists planting IEDs in Zamfara

Special Forces under Operation FANSAN YANMA successfully intercepted terrorists attempting to plant Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along a key route in Gando Forest, located in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the troops—operating as part of Operation TSAFTA DAJI III Phase 3—laid an ambush and confronted the insurgents as they tried to plant the explosives.
Upon spotting the approaching soldiers, the terrorists abandoned their mission and fled into the forest under the cover of darkness, leaving behind their equipment.
Items recovered from the scene included a motorcycle, three 25-litre jerrycans containing IED components, 300 meters of sapper cable, a DET 33 electric detonator, and a hoe used for planting explosives.
